CrosslandX steering vibration

My 2022 Vauxhall CrosslandX diesel has a troublesome steering issue at 213208 km. The steering requires increased effort, almost like intermittent power steering failure. There's also a vibrating/shaking in the steering wheel. I suspect a defective steering angle sensor with a coding fault. Has anyone else experienced similar steering column gremlins, potentially related to traction control or electronic stability? I've checked for wear and tear and wheel alignment, but no luck.

I had a similar issue in my CrosslandX. Steering felt all wrong, and the vibrating was really off-putting. Did you check the steering sensor?

The steering sensor is my prime suspect. Could you elaborate on your experience? Was the fault definitively traced back to the sensor's coding, or were there other contributing factors, such as the electronic stability system?

For me it was the coding of the steering angle sensor, causing the car to misinterpret the steering wheel position and messing with the electronic stability. It ended up needing a re-calibration at the workshop, because i didn't had the right equipment for that.

Thanks for your insights! I'll visit my workshop, knowing that a steering angle sensor coding fault is likely the culprit, mirroring your experience. The repair cost 195€.
