Crossroad fog sensor malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Honda Crossroad owner experienced a malfunctioning fog sensor, leading to issues with the air conditioning, spray nozzles, and mirror heating. The problem was identified as a generic 'fog sensor malfunction' error code. It was suggested that a defective cable or plug connection could be the cause, affecting multiple systems. The issue was resolved by cleaning and replacing a corroded connector on the sensor harness, restoring all functions.

Yeah, sorry, should have mentioned that. The OBD2 scanner is throwing a generic 'fog sensor malfunction' code. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause all these problems at once?

Absolutely, especially on a car that age. A bad connection can wreak havoc across multiple systems that rely on that sensor's input, especially if they're daisy-chained or share a common ground. Given the cost of a new sensor, I'd check the wiring and connections first. If that doesn't fix it, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. Sounds like you're on the right track though.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on. Took it to a workshop, and it turned out to be a corroded connector on the sensor harness. They cleaned it up and replaced a small section of the wiring. Cost me 95€ all in, and everything's working perfectly again.

Sounds like a dodgy sensor alright. When you say 'error stored in the memory,' are you referring to a specific error code thrown up by an OBD2 scanner? Could be a CAN bus issue if multiple systems are affected, which is plausible given the symptoms.
