Crossroad steering wheel vibration and spongy handling
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Honda Crossroad owner experienced steering wheel vibration, spongy handling, and intermittent power steering failure. The issue was suspected to be related to the power steering system, specifically the cable or plug connections. Upon inspection, a defective plug connection was identified as the cause, and after repair, the vehicle's steering issues were resolved.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't specifically checked the cable or plug connections. Where exactly should I be looking for those? Any specific areas known to be problematic?

Well, I am by no means an expert, but I think the connections are usually found near the steering column or steering rack. I would recommend checking those first. However, given the error in the memory and the symptoms you are describing, it might be worth a trip to the workshop to be absolutely sure. I really don't know if this is the same thing.

Thanks for the advice! I appreciate the help. I had the car checked and it turned out to be a defective plug connection, as you suspected. Repair cost was 95€. Everything is working fine now.

Hello there. I own a Crossroad myself, although I am not sure about the build year, but your issue sounds very familiar. I remember experiencing something akin to that, especially the vibrating steering wheel and the spongy handling. It might be a long shot, but did you by any chance check the cable or plug connections of the power steering component? In my case, that was the culprit.
