Crown hybrid fuel issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Toyota Crown hybrid with just over 25,000 km is experiencing starting issues, stalling at idle, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and a persistent check engine light. The problem is suspected to be related to the fuel system, possibly a defective fuel pump or a loose cable connection. After checking the fuel pump relay and wiring, it was determined that the issue was a defective cable connection to the fuel pump, which was resolved by a professional repair.

Thanks for the tip! The fuel pump relay seems fine, I checked with a multimeter. I am now leaning towards a defective fuel pump. Is your Crown also a hybrid? How did you solve this?

Yep, mine's a hybrid too. After chasing my tail for a while, I ended up taking it to a trusted workshop. It turned out to be a bad fuel pump connection. Honestly, sometimes it's worth just letting the pros handle it, especially with the hybrid system involved.

Okay, I appreciate the advice. I think I'll bite the bullet and take it in. I suspected a defective fuel pump but was hoping it was something simple. I took it to the shop, and you were right. The cable connection to the fuel pump was defective. Repair cost me 95€ Thanks!

Sounds awfully familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Crown – though I can't recall the exact error code. Stalling, rough running, the whole shebang. Have you tried checking the fuel pump relay and its wiring? That was one of the first things I looked at before tearing into the fuel pump itself.
