Crown multifunction steering wheel failure

Hi, I've got a problem with my 2009 Toyota Crown gasoline. The multifunction steering wheel has stopped working completely. None of the buttons respond. I checked the error memory and there's an error stored related to the steering wheel controls. Could it be a defective cable connection?

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Crown. The steering wheel controls just died. Did you check the control module connections? Mine was a bit loose.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the control module located? And what do you mean by loose? Corroded?

It’s behind the steering wheel, you will have to take the steering wheel off to have a look. I would recommend going to a local workshop. The error that you are describing sounds very familiar to what I had. The mechanic was able to fix it for cheap.

Okay, thanks for the help! Took it to a workshop as you suggested. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable connection in the steering wheel, as suspected. They replaced it for just 95€, all working now!
