Crown Victoria Injection Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Ford Crown Victoria is experiencing issues with its injection system, leading to increased fuel consumption, reduced power, stalling at idle, and smoke during acceleration. The problem may be due to faulty cables or plugs, but another possibility is clogged or malfunctioning fuel injectors, potentially from bad fuel. A suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop to confirm the issue and address it effectively.

When you had the reduced power and fuel consumption, did your engine also stall at idle or smoke when you accelerated? How did you figure out it was the fuel injectors? Did you do any tests or see anything?

Yeah, the stalling was intermittent, and I did see some smoke on hard acceleration a couple of times. I didn't have the tools to properly diagnose it myself, so I just took it to a workshop. They ran some tests and confirmed it was the injectors.

Thanks! I'll take it to a workshop. Hopefully, it won't cost more than 95€.

Crown Vic, eh? Sounds familiar. I had almost the same symptoms on mine. Power was down, and it felt like I was constantly at the gas station. Have you checked the fuel injectors themselves? Could be a bad batch of fuel gumming things up.
