Cruise control failure on Mercedes C Klasse

Brake lights seem fine and no other warning lights are on. But could a faulty pedal switch really stop the cruise control from working completely?

Yes it absolutely can. The system is designed to disengage cruise control if it thinks you're braking, even a little bit. That being said, considering the stored error and mileage, a visit to a workshop might be the best bet. A diagnostic scan will pinpoint the issue. Looks like it will only cost around 95€

Thanks for the insight! You were right, it was the pedal switch. Got it replaced and the cruise control is working perfectly again. The final bill was indeed 95€

Interesting. Does your brake light work properly? Sometimes a faulty brake pedal switch can disable the cruise control. Have you noticed any other dashboard lights?
