Hey, thanks for your reply. It's nice to know that I'm not alone with this problem. Can you remember how much the repair cost you? Has anything else come up since then that I should know about?

Hey, no problem, that's what we're here for! So, I had to fork out €1000 for the repair of the engine control unit, which was defective in my car. But I'd say it was money well spent, because since then my cruise control has been back in full swing. So far, nothing new has come up - fortunately. I feel like I'm in a new car!

Thank you very much for the information! That reassures me a little. 1000 € is quite a lot of money, but if it can fix the problem, I think it's worth it. I will therefore probably visit a mechanic. Hopefully everything will go as smoothly as it did for you. Thanks again for the help!

Hello, I had almost exactly the same problem with my 5 Series. In my case, however, it was a bit cheaper or it was a different fault. According to the garage, the "SZL" (steering column control center) was replaced because an electrical connection was defective. Due to the defect, the engine control unit probably didn't receive a command when I pressed the button on the steering wheel, at least that's how the workshop explained it to me. It cost me around 400€ together with the learning process for the new component.

Hey, I can understand your concerns. I had the same problem with my 2012 BMW 3 Series. The indicator lights came on and the cruise control just stopped working. Turns out it had something to do with the cruise control module, which was faulty and needed to be replaced. It wasn't an easy job, but in the end the mechanic fixed the problem. So far everything is running fine again. Hope that helps you a little.
