Cruze transmission fault
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Chevrolet Cruze owner experienced transmission issues, including an engine warning light, emergency mode, slipping, unclean shifts, and grinding noises. The error memory indicated a fault with the transmission oil pressure sensor. The problem was initially addressed by checking and topping up the gearbox oil, which resolved the symptoms. However, the faulty sensor required replacement at a workshop to fully resolve the issue.

Interesting. I didn't consider that, to be honest. Where exactly did you check the oil level on your Megane? Was it easy to access?

Yeah, it was a pain to get to, tucked away under the air filter box if I remember correctly. Had to remove a few things to reach the dipstick. But honestly, if you're already having those symptoms, I'd just take it to a shop. Could save you a lot of headache down the line.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out the gearbox oil level was indeed too low. Topped it up and the symptoms disappeared, but the sensor was still faulty. Had the sensor replaced at a workshop for 365€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds rough! I had similar symptoms on my old Renault Megane – engine light, weird shifting, the whole shebang. Did you check your gearbox oil level? That was my problem. Stupidly simple but caused all sorts of chaos.
