CT200h Bypass Valve Error and Overheating

I'm having a 'Bypass valve malfunction' error with my 2016 Lexus CT200h hybrid (182769 km). The engine is overheating. Coolant levels are fine, air intake is clear, and the exhaust system looks okay. Could this mean lower fuel efficiency or power loss? Any ideas?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my CT200h. Was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. Is it throwing any other codes, or just the bypass valve?

Just the bypass valve malfunction for now. Could this be a secondary error from something else?

Yep, that's exactly what happened to me. Turned out to be a minor sensor issue throwing everything off. Best to get it checked at a workshop, they'll sort it out in no time.

Your intuition was spot-on! The workshop found a minor sensor fault triggering the bypass valve error. Repair cost was 0€, surprisingly simple. Thanks!
