CT200h Camshaft Sensor Issue

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2021 Lexus CT200h hybrid. It has 97502 km on the clock. The engine starts poorly, stalls at idle sometimes, and the check engine light is on. I suspect a defective camshaft sensor, possibly due to an encoder wheel issue. Anyone else seen this?

Oh dear, that sounds frustrating! I had similar symptoms with my 2014 Opel Astra – it was a real headache. Check engine light, engine misfire... the whole shebang! Could also be the crankshaft sensor acting up, have you checked that too?

Thanks for the input. The crankshaft sensor seems fine, but where was the camshaft sensor located in your Opel, and how did you pinpoint that as the root cause?

Well, the camshaft sensor was tricky to locate in my case, and unfortunately I couldn't pinpoint the root cause myself. With these electrical issues, it can be difficult. Eventually, I had to take my Astra to a workshop where they ran diagnostics and confirmed the sensor failure. It's probably best to have it checked out professionally. Could save a lot of time and maybe unnecessary expenses.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. I had it diagnosed, and it was indeed the camshaft sensor/encoder wheel as I suspected. Repair cost 695€. Thanks again!
