CT200h Overheating Speed Sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Lexus CT200h was experiencing overheating issues with erratic radiator fan behavior, either running constantly or not at all. Initial suspicions of a faulty temperature sensor were dismissed due to normal readings. A suggestion was made to check the speed sensor, which was identified as the problem. Replacing the speed sensor resolved the overheating issue.

Interesting! I didn't think about the speed sensor. Where is it located, and how did you diagnose it as the culprit? Was the fan running constantly, or just intermittently malfunctioning like mine?

Yes, the fan was running constantly and sometimes didn't work at all. As far as location goes, I'm not 100% sure but I think it's near the front wheel hub. I didn't diagnose it myself, I took it to a shop and they figured it out pretty quickly. My advice would be to go to the workshop.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to my local mechanic. Turns out the speed sensor was the problem, just like you suspected! Got it replaced for about 250€ and the overheating issue seems to be gone. Really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar problem with my CT200h. The symptoms sound eerily familiar. In my case, it turned out to be the speed sensor, that was causing the fan to go crazy. Did you check the speed sensor?
