CT200h power steering issue

I'm having a real headache with my 2017 Lexus CT200h hybrid. The power steering is acting up – the steering wheel vibrates and feels spongy, especially at lower speeds. The error memory has a fault stored, and sometimes it feels like the power steering just gives up completely, making it super hard to turn! Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking it could be a dodgy connection somewhere.

I had similar issues with my CT200h. Felt like I was fighting the wheel sometimes. Does it happen more when the engine is cold?

You know what, yeah, it does seem worse when the engine's just started. What did you do to fix it?

Mine was a defective cable or plug connection of the component. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to be looked at. They should be able to sort it out pretty quickly.

Thanks a lot for the tip! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – faulty connection. The repair set me back 95€. Steering is smooth as butter now!
