CT200h Tire Pressure Sensor Fault

I've got a 2012 Lexus CT200h hybrid with about 52,778 km on the clock. Recently, I've been getting a 'Tire pressure too low' warning, along with an error message on the speedometer. I scanned the error memory, and it's flagging a tire pressure sensor fault. I've checked the tire pressures manually, and they're all fine. Could it just be a dead sensor battery at this age?

Sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same issue with my old Volvo. Same symptoms, same head-scratching. Did you try checking the air valve?

I did check the air valve, it seems to be fine. Was the fix also a sensor issue, or something else entirely?

Yep, turned out to be the TPMS sensor battery in my case as well. If the valve is okay, I'd bet that's your culprit, too. Probably best to get it checked at a workshop, though, just to be sure.

I appreciate the insight! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was a dead sensor battery. Replaced the sensor, and the error's gone. Cost me around 280€, but at least it's sorted!
