Cylinder Pressure Fluctuations

I own a 2009 Lexus IS diesel with approximately 60636 km. I've observed a fluctuation in cylinder pressure, accompanied by higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and the check engine light. I suspect a consequential error.

Whoa, that sounds rough! My old beater showed similar signs before the head gasket went. Have you noticed any engine knocking or checked for intake manifold leaks? I'd also be looking at the timing belt – a slipped one can cause all sorts of mayhem. Is your turbocharger making any weird noises?

Engine knocking is absent. I haven't specifically checked for intake manifold leaks. Regarding the turbocharger, I can't say I've noticed any unusual sounds. Could a faulty turbocharger cause cylinder pressure fluctuations? And why do you think of the head gasket?

Well, I'm no expert, but on my car, the head gasket issue caused pressure loss. And yeah, a dodgy turbo could definitely mess with cylinder pressures! It's pumping air in, and if it's not doing it right... boom, pressure problems. Honestly, I'd get it to a workshop. It sounds like it could be a bunch of things, and you don't want to make it worse!

I appreciate the input. Upon inspection, the issue stemmed from a faulty sensor triggering the check engine light and consequently affecting fuel delivery. The repair was covered under warranty, resulting in no cost.
