Hey there! I appreciate you sharing about the bumps you faced with your Duster. Sounds like you went through quite the ordeal, but relieved to hear it all turned up alright in the end. The solution you've pointed out seems doable and I'll definitely take your advice about insisting on a full diagnostic check-up when I roll up to the garage. By the way, do you happen to recall what you had to shell out for settling the whole cable issue? And did anything else pop up after since you got it taken care of or has it been smooth sailing so far? Thanks again for taking out time to answer. Really means a lot!

Hey! Happy to help, and yeah, it was quite a ride with my Duster. As I mentioned, it was the faulty cable that started the whole thing. For the cable/plug fix, the cost wasn’t too bad, roughly 95€ if memory serves me right. As for any additional problems since the repair, it's been a breeze--nothing's cropped up. I’ll tell you what, since getting that sorted, one major plus point has been a vast improvement with the fuel composition errors. Seems the mechanic nailed it on that front! The ol’ beast has been running smooth and steady ever since, fingers crossed it stays that way eh! Hope it all works out as well for you as it did for me!

Hey! Thanks for all the info and advice. The cost doesn't sound too drastic and it looks like going to the right mechanic will be key. Hearing that your Duster has been behaving since the repair does give me a bit of faith. If it fixes the fuel composition errors and gets my Logan back to its old self, it’ll be worth it. Fingers crossed indeed! Cheers for sharing your experience it's been a ton of help!

Hey! It sounds like we've dealt with similar issues here. I've got a Dacia Duster, 2015 model, so not too far off from your Logan. Experienced the whole shebang: black smoke, unexpected shutdowns, decreased power, the lot. In my case, turned out to be a faulty cable/plug. I won't lie, it's a bit of a pain in the aft but not the end of the world. The mechanic I went to did a bang-up job fixing it - replaced the defective cable, cleaned the throttle body and fuel injectors, checked compression and inspected the entire ignition system. Having sorted that, the ol' Duster drove like a dream, not a sputter in sight. I can't vouch for the bill you'll face, but the work done certainly isn't something you can brush off. When you're getting it fixed, take my advice and insist on a full diagnostic check-up for added peace of mind. The culprit here might be a single damaged cable, or there might be more issues hiding under the bonnet. Best of luck with it!
