Hey! Your ordeal with the Dacia Duster sounds so similar to what I'm going through with my Sandero right now. Honestly, that whole thing about the alarm system being out of sync with the optical locks; It never crossed my mind. But it sure does seem to add up. It sounds like your garage knows their stuff and handled it pretty well. If you don't mind me asking, do you remember around how much that whole resync and fix thing hit your wallet for? And since they got all that sorted out, has anything else crept up or is your Duster still running smoothly? Cheers for sharing your experience, really appreciate it!

Hey again, Very glad to share my experience, hope it helps you out with your Sandero! So, the synchronization issue with the anti-theft alarm and optical lock was definitely the root cause. Since getting it sorted out at the garage, the problem hasn't crept back at all. The Duster's been running smoothly since then. The damage to my wallet wasn't too bad either, much to my relief. It set me back about 45€ to get the alarm system re-coded and synced up with the optical locking. And worth every euro in my opinion, for the peace of mind alone. So, don't stress about it. Just get your Sandero to a trustworthy mechanic and you'll be all set. Best of luck with it!

Hey again, Couldn't thank you enough for the insight! It's definitely reassuring to hear that your Duster has been in good form since getting the alarm system and optical lock resynced. And also, quite a relief to know that it won't cost an arm and a leg to sort it out. Honestly, I had my nerves rattled, thinking it's a way complicated issue but, you've eased my mind big time. I'll follow your advice and get my Sandero down to a reliable mechanic for a good inspection and likely re-sync of alarm system. Thanks heaps for sharing your experience again. Really appreciate your time and all the best with your Duster in the future. Cheers!

Hey there Faced pretty much the same rigmarole with my 2015 Dacia Duster. There's a good chance your hunch about the anti-theft alarm system is spot on. What seems to happen is that the alarm system gets misaligned with the optical locking, leading to that Dickensian cacophony of beeping. Had to head down to the garage with my Duster. The guys there had to re-sync the entire alarm system with the optical locks and tweak the battery connections. They initially thought it was a battery issue, too, but turns out that was more a symptom than the cause. Not a serious, mechanical issue, more a techie one. Don't sweat it too much — just make sure you get it to a decent garage and they'll sort it out. Best of luck with it.
