Dacia Spring Electric 2022: Solutions for Check Engine Light and Faulty Fuel Filler Flap Position Sensor Issues

Hey! I'm having a bit of a headache with my 2022 Dacia Spring Electric. The check engine light is on and there's a weird warning light in the speedometer. Plus, there's a fault stored. I'm suspicious about the fuel filler flap position sensor but I'd like your thoughts. Has anyone faced similar issues? Would love to know what your workshops did to sort out this problem. Cheers.

Hey there! I had a quite similar issue with my 2020 Dacia Duster. I'm not a professional mechanic but I do have some experience with car maintenance and simple fixes. When I encountered the issue, I took it to my local garage. They traced it to a defective fuel filler flap wiring harness. Cost for the replacement and labor turned out to be 155€. It was a pretty straightforward fix, no subsequent issues since then. Sorted everything out really. However, each case can be different, so just to be sure, could you give a bit more details about your car? Mileage, exact warning codes, any recent repairs or modifications? That might help in offering a more accurate diagnosis. Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks a ton for your reply! My Spring's done 53861 KM and her last service was a month ago, didn't make any modifications since then. The exact warning codes I'm getting are P0463 and U1023. Does that shine any light? Hoping it's a straightforward fix like yours. Cheers for the help!

Hey! Good to hear back from you. The codes you mentioned, P0463 and U1023, are giving us some decent insight. P0463 points towards the fuel level sensor circuit having high input, while U1023 is generally about communication issues. From my experience and a bit of research on these codes, it does feel like it could indeed be the fuel filler flap position sensor or perhaps a wiring issue, like what I had faced. Considering you recently had a service and no modifications, it's less likely that this could be due to something else you messed with. Anyways, my suggestion - better take it to a reliable workshop. They should be able to diagnose and fix it with certainty. Fingers crossed it's as straightforward as mine. Good luck and let us know how your Spring comes out of this. Cheers!
