Hi, thanks for the tip! We must have the same problem. Your situation sounds pretty similar. How much did it cost you to replace the cable/plug? And did you have any problems with it after the repair? Is everything back to normal?

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! It cost me €95 to replace the cable/plug. And yes, everything has been running perfectly again since the repair. The engine immediately stopped making such strange noises and there is no more black smoke coming out of the exhaust. In addition, the fault in the fuel composition was also found and rectified. Since this was dealt with in the workshop, everything has run like clockwork! So don't worry, after that everything was really back to normal!

Great, thanks for the information! That reassures me. 95€ for the replacement sounds reasonable, and it's great to hear that your car has been running smoothly since then. So I'll contact my garage and explain the problem exactly as you advised. Hopefully I'll have the same luck as you. Thanks again!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Toyota Supra, which was found to have a fault in the cable/connector. My symptoms were similar to yours: black smoke, high fuel consumption, unsteady engine noise and the car switched itself off when idling. The solution was finally to replace the faulty cable/plug. It was a serious matter because the car wasn't running properly at all. But since the repair, everything has been running smoothly again. It might be worth taking this up with your garage. Hopefully that will help you!
