Yes, the uneven idling was definitely part of my problem. The connector is directly on the fuel filter housing, close to where the fuel lines attach. Given the symptoms and the potential connection issue, I'd recommend having a workshop check it out. It could save you a lot of trouble.

I appreciate the advice. The workshop confirmed a defective plug connection on the fuel filter heater. Repair costs were 95€. The issues are now resolved. Thank you again.

I have a DMax, and those symptoms sound quite familiar. I had similar problems a while back. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the fuel filter heater? A defective connection there can cause those issues.
