DMax Overvoltage Errors
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Chevrolet DMax diesel with approximately 194,596 km is experiencing overvoltage errors and system failures, with a weak battery noted during startup. The issue is traced back to a heavily discharged or defective battery, which can disrupt the alternator's voltage regulation, leading to overvoltage. Replacing the battery and resetting the ECU resolved the problem, restoring normal function.

Yep, I'm getting tons of fault memory entries, and general electrical malfunction. You had the same overvoltage errors and failing systems? What was the fix?

Yeah, it sounds very similar. I remember the mechanic saying the battery was the root cause, something about it messing with the alternator's voltage regulation. I do recommend taking it to a workshop – electricity can be very complicated.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to the shop and you were spot on. Turns out the battery was indeed heavily discharged, and that was causing the overvoltage. New battery, ECU reset, and everything's running smoothly now. Cost me about 290€.

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my DMax, though I can't say I fully understand how it works. Did you get fault memory entries? Did you notice any other electrical malfunctions?
