Doblo Overheating Check Engine Light
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Fiat Doblo is experiencing overheating and a check engine light issue, possibly due to a malfunction in the active air flap system. A faint buzzing sound from the front of the vehicle suggests a potential problem with the electromechanism, similar to issues seen in other vehicles like the Opel Astra. The recommended solution is to visit a workshop for a professional diagnosis and repair, as these systems can be complex to fix independently.

Thanks! Yes, I have noticed a faint buzzing sound from the front, especially after shutting off the engine. Could you tell me more about the electromechanism failure you had with your Opel?

Yep, that buzzing is a big clue. In my case, the plastic gears inside the electromechanism basically stripped themselves. The Astra's ECU detected the fault, threw the check engine light, and restricted airflow, causing overheating in slow traffic. I'd say it's highly likely your Doblo has the same problem, these systems are pretty similar. Honestly, you're probably looking at a workshop visit; these things are tricky to fix properly yourself.

I appreciate your insights. I'll book an appointment at a workshop for a diagnosis and repair. The estimated cost is 590€. Thanks again!

Hey, overheating and a check engine light are never fun! I had a similar headache with my 2014 Opel Astra. It was a dodgy electromechanism in the active grille shutter. Is your Doblo's system making any weird noises, like a buzzing or clicking, when you start it up or turn it off?
