DS3 Blower Motor Failure

Citroen DS3 aficionados, my 2017 DS3 with a gasoline engine is throwing me for a loop. The blower motor just decided to quit working. I've got 161122 km on the clock. After scanning it with my OBD reader, it's showing an AUC sensor fault. I'm thinking it might be the auto recirculation/cabin air sensor. I visually checked the wiring and the plug; everything looks okay, but who knows? Anyone else run into this gremlin?

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Citroen DS3 owner experienced a blower motor failure, with an OBD scan revealing an AUC sensor fault, likely related to the auto recirculation/cabin air sensor. Despite visually checking the wiring and plug, the issue persisted. Suggestions included testing the sensor with a multimeter and considering professional diagnostics. Ultimately, the problem was traced to a corroded connector on the sensor, which was resolved at a workshop for 95€.

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. The climate control was acting up, and it turned out to be a faulty sensor. The diagnostic said it was likely a cable or plug connection of the component defective. The frustrating thing is, even if the connection looks fine, there could be a break in the wire itself or corrosion inside the connector. Have you tried testing the sensor with a multimeter to see if it's even sending a signal?

Thanks for the insight! I haven't put a multimeter on it yet, but that's a good call. When you say 'similar issue', was your blower motor also dead, or was it something else related to the climate control? And did the BMW throw a specific code pointing to that sensor, or was it more of a process of elimination?

The blower motor was indeed dead, and the diagnostic pointed towards a sensor issue. Given your mileage and the fault code, it's likely the sensor or its wiring. Unless you're really comfortable with electrical diagnostics, honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. I tried fiddling with mine for ages and ended up creating more problems.

Appreciate the advice. I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but you're probably right. I'll bite the bullet and take it in. For the record, it turned out to be a corroded connector on the sensor. 95€ and it's fixed. Thanks again!
