DS3 Cruise Control Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Citroen DS3 owner is experiencing a complete failure of the cruise control system, accompanied by an error message. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective cable or a faulty plug connection. Suggestions include checking the fuse box for blown fuses and inspecting connectors near the actuator for loose connections. Ultimately, the problem was resolved at a garage, where a defective cable connection was identified and repaired.

Good shout about the fuse box, hadn't thought of that! I'll definitely give that a look tomorrow. Do you happen to remember where that's located on your Astra? Might give me a general idea of where to start on my DS3. The error was pretty sudden, like a switch flipped!

It's worth a shot checking the fuses first. On the Astra, the actuator was a pain to get to, tucked away near the steering column. After messing with it for an afternoon and still being no closer to fixing the issue, I caved and took it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly; it turned out to be a faulty system component. Probably the best thing to do.

Thanks for the advice! Ended up taking it to my local garage, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective cable connection! Bill came to 95€, so all in all, not the end of the world. Appreciate you sharing your experience!

Sounds familiar! A similar gremlin popped up on my old 2016 Opel Astra. Cruise control packed it in, and the error messages were cryptic. Did you check the fuse box? A blown fuse can cause havoc. Also, have you tried wiggling any of the connectors near the actuator? It might just be a loose connection. Did the error pop up suddenly, or was it gradual?
