DS3 Cylinder Pressure Ghost Error

My 2017 Citroen DS3 diesel is having some troubling issues. At 244303 km, it's experiencing increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and the check engine light is on. A mechanic found cylinder pressure fluctuating wildly and suspects it may be a consequential error. Could a faulty spark plug or intake manifold cause such a pressure issue? Or could it be something more sinister like engine knocking, or crankshaft or piston ring problems?

I had a similar issue on my DS3, higher fuel consumption and a loss of power. Check engine light drove me nuts. It was all pointing to the same thing, but finding the actual cause was a pain. It's like your engine is a symphony orchestra, and one instrument is playing completely the wrong tune, throwing everything else off but the issue isn't necessarily the one instrument itself.

What ended up being the 'wrong tune' in your engine orchestra? What part did you find to be the root of the issue? How did you go about finding it, if you have any tips?

In my case, it was hard to find, but also a simple fix. However, with cylinder pressure issues, you really need special tools. If I were you, go to a specialised workshop. I had to do the same in the end. They have specific equipment to help you further!

I took your advice and brought the DS3 to a mechanic and it turned out that the fluctuating cylinder pressure was a 'ghost' error. The mechanic deleted it and hasn't come back since. The repair cost was 0€!
