DS4 Oil Temperature Sensor Issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2022 Citroen DS4, gasoline engine. It's got about 169790 km on the clock. Lately, I've been getting a warning light and the error memory is storing some fault code. To top it off, the oil pressure warning lamp occasionally lights up too! I'm suspecting it might be the engine oil temperature sensor acting up. Has anyone else experienced something similar? I checked the sensor itself and the wiring seems okay at first glance, but I'm thinking the cable or plug connection might be defective. Before I start tearing things apart, any advice?

I had a similar issue on my DS4, although I didn't check the error memory myself. Those symptoms definitely sound like a faulty oil temperature sensor. The oil pressure light coming on and off intermittently is a classic sign. Have you checked the resistance of the sensor itself with a multimeter when the engine is hot and cold?

Thanks for the quick response! No, I haven't checked the resistance yet. I was hoping to avoid getting that deep into it, but I guess I have to. Do you remember what kind of resistance values I should be looking for at different temperatures? Also, was your issue consistently present, or did it come and go?

Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact resistance values – you'd need the official Citroen repair manual for that. My issue was intermittent at first, but then became more frequent until the warning lights were on almost constantly. To be honest, I ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the oil temperature sensor and replaced it. Cost me about 95€ including labor. Might be worth getting it properly diagnosed before you start replacing things yourself.

Okay, thanks a lot for the info! Knowing that someone else had the same problem and that the workshop confirmed the sensor is a big help. I'll check the resistance as best as I can, but I'll probably end up taking it to the shop for a proper diagnosis and replacement. 95€ sounds reasonable, so at least I know what to expect. Cheers!
