DS5 Fuel Flap Release Failure
Summary of the thread
The 2015 Citroen DS5 hybrid experienced a fuel filler flap release failure, with the central display showing an error message indicating unavailable vehicle functions. The issue was likely due to a defective linkage or actuator motor, as there was no sound from the flap area when attempting to open it. The suggested solution was to visit a qualified workshop for diagnosis and repair, which confirmed the faulty mechanism and replaced it, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick response. I listened closely, and there's no sound from the fuel filler flap area when I try to activate the release. The error message stays on the display, even after repeated attempts. Is it possible the entire unit needs replacing? Also, is there any temporary fix to open the flap to refuel?

Based on your description, a defective linkage or actuator motor is the most probable cause. Attempting a temporary fix without proper knowledge could cause further damage. I'd recommend a visit to a qualified workshop for diagnosis and repair. They'll be able to properly diagnose the fault and replace the faulty components. It will cost approximately 210€.

Thanks for your advice. I took the DS5 to a local workshop, and they confirmed your suspicion. The fuel flap release mechanism was faulty, and they replaced it. Everything is working perfectly now. I appreciate your assistance.

The symptoms and error code suggest a problem within the fuel filler flap release mechanism. Have you listened closely near the fuel flap when activating the release? Can you hear any sound? The linkage could be defective, or the actuator motor might have failed. Does the error message disappear if you try again?
