DS5 Glow Plug Light and Smoke

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2011 diesel Citroen DS5. It's done 137103 km. The glow plug light is always on, and the check engine light is on too. Plus, it's smoking when I accelerate, which is new. I'm thinking it might be the glow plug control unit. I checked the wiring and connectors, and they look okay, but I can't be sure. Anyone else had this?

Hey, I had something similar with my DS5. Same symptoms: persistent glow plug light and the engine light. Did you check the small connector on the preheating unit itself? Mine looked ok from a distance but was corroded inside. Might be worth a closer look before you start replacing parts.

Thanks! Could you tell me exactly where that preheating unit connector is? Just want to make sure I'm looking at the right thing. Did you have any problems other than the lights?

Yeah, it's right on the preheating unit, near the engine block. I remember it being a bit fiddly to get to. And no, just the lights and some rough idling initially. If the connector is fine, honestly, I'd get it checked by a workshop. Could be a faulty control unit. I'd just hate for you to throw parts at it without knowing for sure.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check that connector again really closely. If it looks good, I'll take it to a shop for a proper diagnosis. The shop said it was the cable or plug connection and cost 95€ to repair. Thanks again!
