Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the fuses, all seem fine. The error code I got was 'B1386'. Does that shed any more light on the situation? I don’t really want to cause more problems trying to fix it.

Thank you for providing the error code. 'B1386' typically indicates an open circuit or short circuit condition within the mirror heating element circuit. Given your intermediate level of technical expertise and lack of familiarity of the vehicle, and considering your apprehension about potentially exacerbating the problem, I must strongly suggest that you take your Citroen DS5 to a reputable workshop to avoid further damage. Electrical faults can be insidious, and without the appropriate diagnostic tools and technical documentation, it is easy to inadvertently compound the issue.

Appreciate the advice. Sounds like getting it to a professional is the best bet. I'll book it in. They quoted 95€ for diagnosis and repair, said it was indeed a corroded connector. Cheers!

Based on the symptoms you describe, particularly the lack of heat in both mirrors and the presence of an error code, a defective cable or connector is a highly probable cause. Have you inspected the fuses related to the mirror heating system? It would be prudent to verify their integrity before proceeding with more invasive diagnostic procedures. Could you specify the exact error code you retrieved? This might provide more specific clues regarding the location of the fault.
