Spark plugs? This is a diesel engine. Could this error really be triggered by something else?

Right, diesel, my bad. Just that the Scenic had a consequential error. I'd suggest going to a workshop. Seems hard to pinpoint without proper diagnostic tools.

Thanks for the advice. You were right, it was a consequential error. A faulty sensor was causing the cylinder pressure issue. Repair cost was 0€ since it was a warranty issue.

Hmm, reminds me of a similar headache I had with my old Renault Scenic. Same symptoms – reduced power, check engine light. You checked the spark plugs and fuel injector already?
