Hey, I've got a 2012 Fiat Ducato diesel with 213604 km on it. Lately, the engine warning light comes on, and sometimes the gearbox goes into emergency mode. I've also noticed some unclean shifting and even grinding noises. Error memory points to a faulty transmission oil temperature sensor. Could low gearbox oil be the culprit?

Yes, low oil was the primary cause. The sensor was likely triggered by the overheating due to insufficient lubrication. However, the sensor itself might be faulty now. I would recommend having it checked by a workshop.

Thanks! That's helpful. I'll check the oil level and probably get it to a workshop. Turns out, the oil was indeed low, and the sensor needed replacing. Cost me 365€ to sort it all out.
