Ducato multifunction steering wheel fault
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Ducato owner is experiencing a malfunction with the multifunction steering wheel, where none of the controls are responsive, and an error is recorded in the memory. The issue is suspected to be a connectivity problem, specifically with the cable connection inside the steering wheel. It is suggested to check the wiring harness connection within the steering wheel, as a defective cable is likely the cause. The owner confirms the cable connection was faulty and resolves the issue by having it replaced at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! When you say cable connection, do you mean where the wiring harness plugs into the control module, or somewhere else specifically? And yeah, the error's permanent, not intermittent.

Yes, I mean where the wiring harness connects within the steering wheel. Given that it's a permanent error and you've checked obvious connections, it's likely a defective cable. While you might be able to fix it yourself, taking it to a workshop might be the better option.

Appreciate the confirmation! I'll check the cables, but probably take it to a workshop. Turns out the cable connection was indeed faulty and they replaced it for 95€ Thanks a lot!

I had something similar happen with my Ducato. Check the cable connection inside the steering wheel itself. That's often where the problem lies. Is the error permanent or intermittent?
