Dynasty Fuel Pressure Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2003 Hyundai Dynasty experienced rough running, stalling, and jerking, with a check engine light on, leading to suspicion of a fuel pressure sensor issue. Possible causes included a defective cable or plug connection, a clogged fuel filter, or faulty fuel injectors. After further inspection and diagnostics, a defective fuel pressure sensor connection was confirmed and repaired, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've visually inspected the wiring harness and connector, and while no defects are apparent, a more detailed look is needed. The fuel filter was replaced about 30000 kilometers ago. I am receiving a code specifically indicating a fuel pressure sensor malfunction. Does that change your assessment?

With the specific fuel pressure sensor code and your visual inspection, it's increasingly likely the sensor or its connections are the cause. I'd suggest further diagnostics with a multimeter or taking it to a qualified workshop. They can use a scan tool to monitor the fuel pressure readings in real-time and pinpoint the issue more accurately. It's also possible the sensor is giving a false reading due to a more complex issue within the fuel system, but professional diagnostic equipment is the next logical step.

Thanks for the help. I took the car to a mechanic, and they confirmed a defective fuel pressure sensor connection, like you suspected. The repair, replacing the connector and wiring, cost 95€. The car runs perfectly now. Your insights really helped.

Those symptoms certainly point toward a fuel system issue, and a faulty fuel pressure sensor could indeed be the culprit. Rough running, stalling, and jerking are all consistent with improper fuel delivery. Before replacing the sensor, have you inspected the wiring harness and connector? A loose or corroded connection can cause intermittent readings. Also, when was the last time you replaced your fuel filter? A clogged filter can also cause similar problems by restricting fuel flow. Fuel injectors could be a problem too, but usually this goes along with engine misfire codes. Are you getting any?
