E Klasse hybrid oil temperature sensor issue

I'm having an issue with my 2023 Mercedes E Klasse hybrid The oil temperature sensor seems to be acting up I'm getting a warning light and a stored error related to the oil temperature The oil pressure warning lamp also illuminates intermittently The mileage is only 8782 km so I suspect it's not actual oil overheating I've checked the basics and I'm leaning towards a faulty cable or plug connection Has anyone experienced something similar with the automotive sensor on this engine type Is my assessment of a defective connection plausible

That sounds frustrating I have a similar E Klasse though a bit older, no hybrid I had some weird readings with my oil gauge a while back and I also suspected the temperature sensor Did you notice any other weird behavior besides the warning light and the oil pressure light Mine was also giving me jumpy readings on the dashboard, like the oil temperature was fluctuating wildly even when the engine was cold What error code is it throwing

The readings do seem a bit erratic now that you mention it It's hard to say for sure if it's fluctuating wildly, but it definitely doesn't seem stable I'll have to double-check the exact error code but I'm curious did you eventually confirm it was the temperature sensor and if so, what was the fix

Yeah, eventually it was definitely the temperature sensor The fluctuating readings were a big clue I tried cleaning the contacts, but that didn't do the trick Honestly, I just took it to a workshop They confirmed it was the car sensor and replaced it Saved myself the headache I'd suggest the same These modern systems are too sensitive to mess with without proper tools

That's helpful I appreciate the confirmation that it likely points to the temperature sensor itself I'll probably skip the DIY route and take it in Turns out the repair including parts will be around 95€, which is not too bad Hopefully, that resolves the issue for good
