Eclipse Cross AC Failure: Troubleshooting & Solutions
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around AC issues in a 2022 Eclipse Cross Diesel, where the system barely cools and often blows warm air. A similar problem in a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Diesel was resolved by replacing faulty valves under warranty. The suggested solution is to take the vehicle to a dealer for diagnosis and repair while the warranty is still active, as the symptoms align with known issues that dealers are familiar with.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Yeah, I'm at 124770 KM and just had my service last month. The warranty is still active for another 6 months, so that's good news if it's similar to your valve issue. Haven't noticed any weird noises, it just seems like the system isn't performing as it should. I'll probably take it to the dealer and get it checked out while I'm still covered. Did they take long to diagnose and fix yours?

Hey again! Yeah, I remember dealing with this on my Outlander. When I took it in, the diagnosis was pretty quick, took them about an hour to pinpoint those faulty valves. The actual repair was done the next day though, as they had to order the parts. All in all, I was without my car for about 2 days. Since you're still under warranty like I was, that's definitely the way to go. My advice would be to get it checked ASAP while you've still got that coverage. The symptoms you're describing are super similar to what I experienced, and it's better to get it sorted now before summer hits full force. Just a heads up, make sure you tell them about that recent service. In my case, they wanted to know if any AC work had been done recently. The good thing is, these Mitsubishi dealers usually know their stuff with these common AC issues. Let me know how it goes at the dealer! Fingers crossed it's something straightforward like mine was.

Thanks so much for all the details! That's really helpful to know about the timeline, 2 days isn't bad at all. I'll definitely mention the recent service when I take it in. Actually just called the dealer and got an appointment for next Tuesday, so hopefully they can sort it out quickly like they did with yours. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it's made me feel a lot better about getting this sorted! I'll update you once I know what the issue is. Thanks again!

Hey! I had a similar issue with my 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Diesel. The symptoms were exactly like yours, weak cooling and warm air. Turned out to be faulty valves in the AC system. Luckily, I got it fixed under warranty at my local Mitsubishi dealer, so it cost nothing. They replaced the defective valves, and the AC has been working perfectly since then. What's your current mileage and is your car still under warranty? Also, have you noticed any unusual noises when the AC is running? This info would help me share more specific details about my experience.
