Ecosport Central Locking Failure

Having trouble with my 2005 Ford Ecosport diesel. The central locking has stopped working completely. Neither the key fob nor the interior switch will lock or unlock the doors. I've scanned for error codes, and there is an error stored related to the locking mechanism. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection.

I had a similar central locking problem with my Ecosport. Do you have keyless entry? And have you checked the car alarm fuse yet?

Yes, I have keyless entry. Where exactly is the car alarm fuse located? And is there anything else that could be a cause?

I don't know the exact location of the fuse in your model, but it should be in the fuse box. I believe that a faulty locking mechanism is more likely if the fuse is ok. I had to take mine to a workshop for diagnostics and repair, and I would advise you to do the same.

The workshop confirmed a defective cable connection in the central locking system. The repair cost 95€. Everything works again.
