Edge AC failure

Good shout on the refrigerant leak. I'll check for that with UV dye, assuming I can get my hands on some. The compressor clutch seems okay visually, but how can I be absolutely sure it's engaging properly? Any telltale signs other than noise?

Honestly, if you're not hearing the compressor engage, and you've checked the refrigerant, it's probably time to take it to a shop that specializes in AC work. Modern AC systems are complicated. It could be those valves you mentioned, a bad compressor, or even a blockage somewhere. Trying to diagnose it yourself without the right tools can be a real headache, and you might just end up doing more harm than good. I had to bite the bullet and get mine professionally fixed.

You've confirmed my fears, haha. I was hoping it'd be a quick fix, but I'll take it to the professionals. Turns out it was a defect in individual valves in the air conditioning system. Cost me around 1000€ to get sorted, but at least I'm cool again!

I had similar AC issues with my Edge, although mine's a bit older. Check for refrigerant leaks first, that's the easiest thing to rule out. A slow leak can kill your AC efficiency over time. Also, give the compressor clutch a look-see, make sure it's engaging when you turn the AC on. Have you noticed any weird noises?
