Edge engine overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Ford Edge diesel with 162,614 km is experiencing engine overheating, suspected to be caused by a faulty electric fan due to a defective cable or plug connection. The fan is not running, and fuses have been checked and found to be fine. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a simple electrical connection problem, suggesting that a workshop visit could lead to a quick fix. The problem was confirmed to be a faulty cable connection, which was repaired for 95€.

Yeah, the fan isn't running. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. When yours was acting up, was it completely dead, or was it intermittent?

Mine was completely dead too! I'd say it's worth getting it checked out. Could be a quick fix like mine, or something a bit more involved. I know a dodgy fan motor can cause havoc. I'd take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! It was indeed a faulty cable connection, just like you suspected. Repair cost was 95€. Appreciate the help!

Whoa, overheating is scary! I had something similar happen with my Edge. I was losing my mind, thinking it was the radiator fan or even the fan clutch giving out, but it turned out to be a simple electrical connection thing. Was the fan not running at all?
