Electric Mini Countryman steering column issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 electric Mini Countryman experienced an issue with its electric steering column adjustment, with a fault stored in the error memory. The garage suspected a cable or plug issue as the cause. After checking, it was confirmed that a loose plug on the steering column was the problem, which was resolved for a cost of 95€.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the fuses yet, to be honest I am not very technically skilled when it comes to car steering. Do you know which fuse number it is?

Yeah, in my case, the fuses were fine, but the error memory was showing the same symptoms as you described: steering failure. Given that the garage suspects a cable or plug, and the cost is relatively low, it is likely what they found on my car as well. Honestly, I'd just let them sort it. It's fiddly work and probably best left to the pros.

Just wanted to let you know the issue is now resolved! Turns out, just like you suspected, it was a dodgy connection. They found a loose plug on the steering column. 95€ later, and the electric adjustment is working perfectly again. Thanks so much for your help, you saved me a bunch of stress!

Sounds like a frustrating issue! I had a similar problem with my Mini Cooper - same brand obviously - a few years back. The electric adjustment went haywire. Did you check the fuses related to the steering column? That's where I would start.
