Electrical problems with Renault Clio: Red wrench indicator and starting problems

Hello everyone, I have a 2004 Renault Clio with a gasoline engine and 167,000 km on the odometer. I have the following problem: When I drive the car for longer distances over 100 km, the red wrench symbol eventually lights up and error messages follow, such as driver and passenger airbag. When I turn off the engine, it won't start again. Only when I disconnect the battery for a few hours and then try to start it again, does it start normally. The workshop couldn't find anything when reading out the errors and suspects that the problem could be with the electrics, but isn't sure. Has anyone had similar experiences or can give me any advice on what it could be?

It sounds like you might be dealing with an electrical issue, possibly related to the alternator or battery connections. Start by checking the battery terminals to ensure they are clean and tightly connected. Corroded or loose connections can cause intermittent electrical problems. If the terminals are fine, have the alternator tested to ensure it's charging the battery properly. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
