Electrical seat functions in the 2021 Benz GLS Class malfunctioning: experience and suggested solutions wanted

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2021 Benz GLS Class (gasoline engine), which already has 182,934 km on the clock. The electric seats are acting up and there is an error in the memory. I suspect a functional limitation of the electric seat. Has anyone had similar experiences and could give me a tip on what I could do? What was your mechanic's experience with such problems? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2018 Benz E-Class (diesel engine) about a year ago and the electrics are often tricky. I also had a faulty seat module. The seats didn't work and behaved very similarly to what you described. Luckily it's not really a serious problem, although it can be quite frustrating, especially on long drives. The technician had to replace the seat module to fix the problem. It was definitely not a DIY job. Try and see if a reset helps. If it doesn't work, I would recommend you have it checked by a mechanic. A good mechanic can definitely help isolate the problem and fix it. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. That's exactly what I was afraid of. I'm glad to hear it's been fixed for you. Can you remember how much it cost you? And have you noticed anything else with the seats since then or was that it? Greetings!

Hey, sure, no problem. In my case, the repair of the seat module cost €435. Since I've been to the mechanic, the electric seat is fully functional again, as if nothing had ever happened. So everything is great again! Since then, I really haven't noticed any more functional restrictions, so it really seems to be fixed. See you soon!

Hey, that sounds reassuring! Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I will now also make an appointment with the mechanic as soon as possible and have the seat module checked. 435 sounds a bit much, but if it's the end of the matter, it's worth it. Thanks again and best wishes!
