Electronics problems with the 2018 BMW 2 Series petrol engine: sat nav failure and warning lights

Hello everyone, I have a few problems with my 2018 BMW 2 Series gasoline engine, which now has 27790 km on it. The electronics have recently started to go haywire, my sat nav sometimes won't start at all or only after a while. And sometimes a warning light comes on in the speedometer. Have any of you had similar problems and can tell me how they were solved by your mechanic? My last visit to the garage wasn't that great, so I'd better ask here before I go there again. Thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

The conversation revolves around a 2018 BMW 2 Series petrol engine experiencing electronic issues, including a malfunctioning sat nav and warning lights on the speedometer. Possible causes suggested include faulty communication between control units, problems in the vehicle electrical system, and voltage fluctuations in the battery. Solutions proposed range from extensive troubleshooting and repair at a factory, to a simple reset of the control units by disconnecting the battery. A software update was also suggested as a potential fix for the sat nav issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I coded my tmps with your machine to show tyre temp as well as pressure. Now there is no readout of either pressure or temp. I have used backup to restore settings to original but that has not worked either

Hello, my G20 often throws the error CD9763 Message (RQ_RPM_BAX, 69.3.4, FX), Timeout: Message (rear axle speed request) from DSC failed in combination with CD9767 Message (RQ_RPM_FTAX, 69.3.4, FX), Timeout: Message (request for front axle speed) from DSC failed. Occurs sporadically when accelerating. Automatic transmission then jerks. Is there an interpretation here?

These error codes suggest a communication issue between the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system and the transmission, possibly due to a faulty sensor or wiring issue. I recommend starting with checking the wheel speed sensors and their connections. If the problem persists, a mechanic should inspect the DSC system and transmission. Please keep us updated on your progress.

Replaced the battery on my F25 X3 recently and had this come up after a scan. New battery was installed and registered to the vehicle. Issue went away after clearing codes. It's possible that this issue may get triggered by a battery on its way out.

It's good to hear that the issue was resolved after replacing and registering the new battery. If any similar issues arise again, it might be worth checking the battery connections to ensure they are secure and free of corrosion. If you have any further questions or encounter any other issues, feel free to ask.

I had a speedometer control unit failure on my bmw x5 f15 today, so I checked the fuse. Was of course not the fault, whereupon I disconnected the battery for 1 hour as it can sometimes happen that the control unit hangs up. Lo and behold, problem solved, window lifter taught again and pano roof.

It's great to hear that disconnecting the battery resolved the issue with your speedometer control unit. If the problem reoccurs, it might be worth checking the connections to the control unit for any loose or corroded contacts. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to ask.
