Thanks for the quick response. I've visually inspected the wiring harness, but I haven't done a deep dive into each individual pin. Calibration is something I haven't considered. Where exactly is the fog sensor located on the Elgrand, and how involved is the calibration process? Are we talking specialized equipment, or is it something I can tackle with a multimeter and some patience?

Considering the complexities of modern automotive systems, I strongly recommend consulting a certified technician. While a multimeter may offer some diagnostic capabilities, specialized equipment and expertise are often indispensable for accurate calibration. The fog sensor's precise location can vary, and attempting DIY repairs without adequate knowledge may inadvertently exacerbate the issue. Given that a faulty sensor could impact the functionality of the air conditioning system, windscreen wash and mirror heating, seeking professional assistance will mitigate potential risks and ensure that the repair is conducted in accordance with established safety standards.

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. I've booked it in with a local garage. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection to the fog sensor, just as I suspected. The repair cost me around 95€ – a lot cheaper than replacing the entire sensor. All systems are now working as they should.

I once encountered a somewhat analogous predicament with a 2014 Volvo XC60. The climate control system exhibited erratic behavior, and diagnostic scans revealed inconsistencies with the humidity sensor readings. Have you attempted a comprehensive inspection of the wiring harness and connectors associated with the fog sensor? It's imperative to meticulously examine the integrity of each pin and wire, ensuring the absence of corrosion or physical anomalies. Moreover, has the sensor undergone calibration procedures?
