Elgrand preheating lamp issue
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Nissan Elgrand diesel is experiencing an issue where the preheating lamp won't switch off, accompanied by a stored error. The problem is suspected to be related to the glow plugs. A similar case was resolved by replacing defective glow plugs, and it is recommended to have the vehicle diagnosed at a workshop to confirm and address the issue.

Yes, the check engine light is on too! I haven't replaced the glow plugs since I bought the car, so probably never. How did you fix yours, and was it definitely the glow plugs?

Yeah, sounds very similar to what I experienced. In my case, it turned out to be a defective glow plug indeed. I had it checked at a workshop. I'd recommend getting yours diagnosed properly too. It can save you a lot of hassle.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – glow plugs were the culprit! Cost me 440€ to get it sorted. Appreciate your help!

I had a similar problem with my Elgrand. Is the check engine light on as well? When was the last time you replaced the glow plugs? They might be defective. Check for engine misfire, especially when starting.
