Elysion gear shift indicator failure

Hi, I have a 2019 Honda Elysion hybrid. The gear shift indicator on the dash isn't working. I can't engage gears properly, the gearbox slips, and it makes grinding noises. Also, there's an error stored in the memory. Has anyone else experienced this?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Honda Elysion hybrid is experiencing a gear shift indicator failure, leading to improper gear engagement, gearbox slippage, and grinding noises. The issue is likely due to a defective control unit, a known problem for this model. The solution involves replacing the control unit, which can be costly, but a workshop confirmation and repair are recommended.

Sounds rough! Is the gear selection display completely dead, or is it showing the wrong gear? Could be a faulty sensor, or worse, a control unit issue. Has the car had any recent work?

The display in the speedometer is completely blank. No recent work, just regular maintenance. If it's a control unit, is that a big job?

Blank display plus those symptoms? Sadly, yeah, sounds like the control unit is likely defective, which is known for this model. Not a cheap fix, unfortunately. Probably needs a full replacement. Is it still under warranty? You should have a workshop check it out.

Thanks for the advice! The workshop confirmed it's the control unit. Repair cost is around 1000€. I'll get it sorted.
