Elysion Overheating Speed Sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Honda Elysion hybrid was experiencing overheating issues with the check engine light on, and the radiator fan was not functioning. The problem was suspected to be linked to a defective speed sensor, which could prevent the fan from operating and lead to overheating. After consulting a mechanic, it was confirmed that the speed sensor was faulty, and replacing it resolved the overheating issue.

The fan doesn't seem to be working at all. I checked the coolant level, and it's fine. Is there anything else I should check before assuming it's the fan motor or sensor?

Okay, complete failure sounds familiar. Honestly, after checking the basics like you did, I just took mine to a workshop. Turned out to be a faulty sensor that wasn't triggering the fan. It’s best to get it diagnosed properly to avoid further damage from overheating. Good luck!

I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local mechanic, and it was indeed the speed sensor. I got it replaced for 250€. The cooling system seems to be working fine now.

I had a similar problem with my Elysion. Not sure about the speed sensor, but I experienced overheating issues and the check engine light too. Is your fan motor completely dead, or does it sometimes work?
