Endeavour Oxygen Sensor Issue

The error code just said 'oxygen sensor circuit malfunction'. It didn't specify which sensor it was. Is there a way to check the sensors myself, or is it better to just take it to a workshop?

Given that the error code is rather generic and you suspect a connection issue, a thorough inspection of the wiring and connectors is worthwhile. However, without specialized diagnostic equipment, pinpointing the exact cause can be challenging. Considering the potential impact on fuel efficiency and emissions, I'd recommend consulting a qualified technician for a comprehensive diagnosis. They possess the necessary tools and expertise to accurately identify the problem and implement the appropriate solution.

Okay, I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was the oxygen sensor. They replaced it, and also cleaned up the connections. Cost me 95€, but the check engine light is gone, and fuel consumption seems back to normal. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Endeavour, though I can't recall the exact year. The oxygen sensor, also known as a lambda sensor, plays a critical role in monitoring the exhaust gases to ensure optimal fuel efficiency. The symptoms you describe – the check engine light and increased fuel consumption – strongly suggest a problem with the sensor or its connections. It's important to resolve this promptly, as a faulty sensor can negatively impact your engine's performance and emissions. Has the error code specified which sensor is at fault?
