Endeavour Parking Heater Issue

I'm having trouble with the auxiliary heater in my 2003 Ford Endeavour diesel. The parking heater won't activate, and it's throwing an error code. I suspect a defective glow plug, but I've also considered the temperature sensor or a coolant leak. The blower motor seems fine. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Endeavour diesel last winter. Same symptoms: parking heater wouldn't start and threw an error. Have you noticed any unusual smells or sounds from the heater unit? A blocked exhaust can cause that too.

Thanks! I haven't noticed any weird smells or sounds. Did you figure out what caused your issue? Was it the glow plug, or something else? Any details on how you diagnosed it would be great. I'm trying to avoid replacing parts unnecessarily.

In my case, the parking heater problem was a defective glow plug. Seems pretty common. I didn't have the tools to replace it myself, so I took it to a local shop. Might be worth doing the same. They can also check for other issues.

Thanks for the help! Following your advice and the shop's diagnosis, it was a faulty glow plug. Replacement, including labor, cost 440€. The heating system works perfectly now. Your experience really helped speed up the diagnosis and avoid wasting time.
