Enjoy Alternator Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Chevrolet Enjoy diesel with 132,199 km exhibited reduced engine power, a warning light, poor starting, and flickering lights. These symptoms suggested a potential alternator failure. Possible causes included a faulty alternator, a worn serpentine belt, or a bad battery. The recommended solution was professional diagnosis and replacement of the faulty generator, which resolved the issue.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't checked the serpentine belt myself, and I wasn't aware of the battery issue. How difficult is it to check the serpentine belt? And could a simple multimeter test be enough to confirm a faulty generator?

While inspecting the serpentine belt is relatively straightforward, determining if the generator is truly faulty requires more sophisticated testing than a simple multimeter reading. Given the symptoms and error codes, it's very likely the generator itself. I'd advise getting it professionally diagnosed. Continuing to drive with a failing alternator can further damage the car. A defective generator means replacing, in my experience.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was the generator. They replaced it, and it cost 960€. Everything is working fine now. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Enjoy. Symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked the serpentine belt? A worn belt can cause the alternator to not charge properly. Also, have you had the battery tested? A bad battery can sometimes mimic alternator problems.
