Entourage Camshaft Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Hyundai Entourage is experiencing starting difficulties, reduced power, and an error code indicating a faulty camshaft sensor. The issue might stem from a bad cable or plug connection to the sensor. After checking for corrosion or loose connections without finding anything obvious, professional diagnosis confirmed a defective camshaft position sensor due to a faulty connection, which was resolved with a repair costing approximately 95€.

Good question. I checked the wiring and connectors for corrosion or loose connections, but didn't see anything obvious. Any tests you'd recommend to figure out what's really wrong?

Right, I understand. In my case, fiddling around didn't help much. Ended up being the sensor, but the garage diagnosed it properly. Probably best to get it checked out professionally. The cost shouldn't break the bank.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a technician, and they confirmed it was a defective camshaft position sensor, caused by a faulty connection like I thought. The repair was about 95€ including parts and labor. Appreciate the help!

Interesting. Had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. Stalling engine, check engine light, the whole shebang. Is the sensor itself definitely faulty, or could it be something else?
